Applications Analyst and Developer – Contract

Role overview

You will play a pivotal role in facilitating the operational support, development and deployment of applications and systems for Belgium, ensuring alignment with business objectives and seamless integration for the commercial risk business. This role may involve occasional travel within EMEA and possibly APAC.

What you will be responsible for

• Relationship management: work directly with colleagues in country to understand their processes and requirements — functional and non-functional.
• Analyse local processes and requirements and assist in the development of global processes and solutions.
• Produce a range of business and application analysis deliverables.
• Liaise with Product Owners and Solution Architects to ensure application development supports the business.
• Perform application development and support to ensure operations are stable, secure and strategically aligned.

Skills and experience

• Experience of insurance projects — knowledge of insurance concepts and terminology.
• Strong applications analysis and software development skills.
• Analytical ability to understand complex subjects and translate that knowledge into required deliverables.
• Experience producing application analysis outputs, including business requirements, business process diagrams, use case diagrams, user stories and user journeys.
• Strong understanding of IT systems, software development lifecycle (SDLC) and application analysis methodologies.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with business and technical subject matter experts.
• Flexibility to work with diverse teams from different countries and cultures.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to take leadership on assigned areas of work.
• Ability to see the “big picture” solution while also drilling down to low-level detail when required.
